Stellos, living in trendy London Brick Lane. A homeless man from Slovakia, mentally ill and unable to speak English, left just to rot on the street.

This man has been living on the streets of London for 6 years. My informants told me he is often harassed by London police who seem more interested in insuring this new trendy area is kept clean for tourists. The homeless report to me that their lives have gotten much worse with the coming Olympics and the election of Right Wing Boris Johnson. Community policing efforts, these homeless people tell me, have put masses of poorly trained individuals on the streets with the rights to harass and use violence against innocent people, many in need of medical care.

The recent thugish attack by a London police officer on a paper sellier who was trying to avoid the G20 pretestors has brought home the problems in London, where bankers and yuppies are the only ones who seem to get protection from a police. In a nation where Jade Goddy can become a national star for being stupid, racist, overwieght and dying of cancer there is a growing concern about the ability of the government or the people to even understand basic human issues and basic human rights. This man needs medical help. But because he is not English and because he is often on the streets in trendy Brick Lane near the City Banking district he is seen as the enemy by a Police Force which has become more violent and more agressive since Sept 11 2001.
