Its a very sad day, it goes to show that the worst kind of politics filled with lies, manipulation, and good old fashion bullying, bribary still wins out. For whatever reason no one seems to care that Obama himself repeatedly stated that using this tactic to pass healthcare reform is no way to run a government. I guess none of you including Gail find that a hypocracy like this is worth noting because when he was outspoken against using this method it was to stop the republicans. Now that he is in charge no one seems interested in the reality that even Obama himself said this is not the right thing to do.

It is Done and won !
The worst kind of politics filled with lies, manipulation, and good old fashion bullying, bribery is only fair and reasonable when done by Republicans when Democrats do exactly the same thing it is despicable LOL What a JOKE what a freaking right wing fundie fanatical laugh out loud JOKE
Talk about sore looses, there was a democratic vote and a democratic process and it was won by hard work and lobbying.
If their had been any other way I am sure Obama would have taken it but he was left no options by the opposition so he pushed ahead and won the vote.
Now the blame him for not caving in and giving up on some of the most important legislation for decades.
Some people just don't understand democracy at work perhaps they would be happier in a dictatorship where the government just tells them what to do and think.
If you don't like America
I guess you can always leave and go to Saudi Arabia :-)

Hi Gio-
Please tell me.
1. Do you like being rejected for pre-existing health conditions.
2. Do you like paying every month for expensive health coverage?
3. Do you like paying 50.00 dollars for 1 Tylenol tablet, which is just 500 ML of Paracetamol, which I get a pack of 40 tablets for 60 cents.
4. Do you like paying 14,000 dollars if you are not insured and break an arm?
5. Do you like paying for Bayer aspirin for which I get for free.
Do you like paying for the same medications I get but I get them for free. Yes, I pay into a large tax pot, but it is a lot cheaper in the long-term. You need to think more long-term and stop thinking so short-sided.

Its amusing that people right away make so many assumptions when some one says they are against this bill.
I am for health care reform, i am for changes and gail you know i have repeatedly stated my feelings on this in past posts. I am not right wing. I am a simply a person a man who expects some one to follow through with the high standards he ran on and promised.
Allow me to explain with a simple idea if you ride on on a high horse and make promises that it wont be politics as usual and there will be transparency, and no back room deals.... Then you do this with such force and disregard for what the people want it is horrible no matter what side of the party line you are on. But he really set the bar high and i am sure you are ignoring the fact that he specifically said in 2007 this is no way to run a givernment, he said you should not use this 50 plus one method to pass something as important as health care reform. So why wont you comment on that? Seems to me it cant be any clearer that if Obama himself said this is wrong and then does it there is something wrong with some one who can lie so blatantly to the people. Yes politics as usual and possibly worse than usual.
Its a disgrace and it will not work. We can not afford this plan, We need real changes not these lies and nonsense ideas of cutting medicare 500 billion. It wont happen. Its just hype.

"You've got to break out of what I call the sort of 50 plus one pattern of presidential politics which is you have nasty primaries where everybody's disheartened and beaten up. Then you divide the country 45 percent on one side, and 45 percent on the other, and 10 percent in the middle and (unintelligible) and Florida behind. And battle it out and then maybe you eke out a victory of 50 plus one. Then you can't govern. You know, you get Air Force One, I mean there are a lot of nice perks for being president. But you can't, you can't deliver on healthcare. We are not going to pass universal healthcare with a 50 plus one strategy. We're not going to have a serious, bold energy policy of the sort I proposed yesterday unless you build a working majority. " 2007 Obama speaks out
OK lets try this way... What do you think about this Obama quote

Let me drop a couple in here. First of all, A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with cancer of the Pancreas. Having been self employed for 20 years prior and having a spouse with chronic conditions good old Kaiser was good enough to give us shit coverage for a measly thousand dollars a month. Like most small business, I took a beating after 9-11and by 2004 I'd been priced out of the health care market. I was BTW in excellent health up until I was found to have cancer, didn't use the health insurance.
The repugs would have you believe that this piss poor piece of shit legislation will bankrupt the country. I didn't hear a whimper from them when it was time to cut taxes and have China finance our two fun wars. That policy has already bankrupted the country....
In response to the 50+1 percent governing? Shit....that's the principle this country's been working with since 1776. Whats lacking and has changed is a personality problem that is the primary cause of this nations decline....
Funny how we have money to bail out B of A and AIG, keep GM in business and the like, but health care for the people who pay the bills....
Question... Does Dick Chaney, former CEO of Haliburton, get his battery changed on Haliburton's insurance or The Public Plan for Politicos?.....

Why is it always the same thing i hear from people... why is it always well the republicans suck as well... This isnt an issue of republican verse democrats. this isnt an issue of ho wth epast things have been done. the issue is we were promised change we were promised a better form of gov't and to say the wars bankrupted us is not helpful. the bottom line is we dont have money to bail out any one especially not aig and fannie mae etc... the bottom libe is no thi sis not how govt is supposed to run with a 50+1 as Obama himself said.
The bottom line is we need real reform and change that will work and last. and what Obama care is insurance reform not health care reform and what he is doing is making up numbers then throwing them around like they mean something. It is a disgrace and hypocritical...So enough with the "well republicans are worse" or democrats are doing what republicans have done for 8 years nonsense" its not a valid argument on the passing of this bill and the destruction it may cause

Oh please. For god's sake, your lot is out protesting calling Obama a nigger, Barney Frank a Faggot, all of the placards a the protests show disgusting visuals of Obama, they have a Confederate flag as their backdrop for the protest -I mean what are you talking about. You should be ashamed to be associated with adults who do that.
I don't see any Democrats doing that.

Are you for real.... First of all it is pathetic to when i see the media do this but its there job ( kind of) but for intelligent people to follow is sad. To stereotype a group of people based on the ignorant actions of a few makes you and any one who uses that no better than the people who use those words to hurt others. And I get the feeling you werent as horrified when the democrats and liberals were holding signs of bush comparing him to Hitler and stalin... But really not the point.
And only one problem with your attempt to pigeon hole me with the bad bad republicans... I am not a republican. I have made that clear that this isnt about party lines its about believing in something, its about standing up for what is right and honorable. But you all are so caught up in this political nonsense that you just follow the lead of those you put down.
You should be ashamed, ashamed that you are no better than those who offend as your minds are just as closed, you have shown no real interest in growth. You spread your agendas and your forget that being liberal once was about being open not about being about one mindset and all others being wrong.
If you dont see the hypocrisy in this then i am sad for you

There is an old expression:
"If you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas"
It means don't associate with people you dislike as you will be associated with them by others.
If you dislike the behaviour of the Ratbag elements either get rid of them or don't associate with them.

Ok I guess i am some how still not clear enough...I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN... i AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY PARTY. At the same point it seems like you are not responding to the fact that the majority of protestors were not jerk offs saying obscene things yet you want to stereotype because its easy. Well that is like me generalizing all democrats because of massa or rangel. But i do not because i am open minded and understand that there are both good and bad elements in both parties. At the end of the day i will repeat its not about party lines its about a bill, an essentially unfunded bill that does not really tackle a lot of the issues. Its about a man who made lots of very specific promises and has not only left them unfulfilled but has done exactly what he said he was against.
Its about stop being naive in that mindset where people say well dont you want reform... well this is a step.
No this isnt a step its a giant leap off a huge cliff. Yet all i get from you guys is bitching and moaning about republicans which is really is pointless. How about for once we discuss the issues at hand.
What about Obama hypocrisy? What about the unfunded steps of this bill. Even to make it look like it is some what funded they dont start most of the things for 4 years but we are already paying for it as soon as it gets signed. How about the fact that 2/3 rd the states are filing legal action against this...
So if we will discuss this lets put the senseless drama and name calling aside and deal with the issues

One more thing as i just read some news report from a mainstream media talking about how the tea party at heart are racist and filled with blind hatred.... So when did the stupidity stop...it must stop with intelligent people like you yet you jump on the band wagon and and stereotype... you are so blinded by your agenda you have no interest in truth or discussion. I clearly stated in my early post i wasnt a republican but you still lump me in with them and then stereotype them all because some racists... Can you not see how hypocritical that is you want people to open their minds yet you are no better... Time to stop the lying to yourselves and act better than those who givern and those who yell slurs and blacks and gays. Time expect more from people but first from yourselves. And after seeing all your outrage by these people once again i ask were you this out spoken in the bush bashing days when people ripped into republicans and used Hitler and Stalin to make comparisons whihs i find extremely offensive coming from a family who lost most of its members in the holocaust
